This book is an awesome Spider-Man spinoff of the comics. I have read a lot of books based off of comics, and this is one of the best I've read. It shows the struggle that superheroes can have as their normal out-of-fighting life. The way money is sparse, because Spider-Man doesn't get paid by rescuing people, it shows what a hassle getting money is. It also shows how many obstacles can show up in anyone's life.

With Mary Jane having to find a job, his credit card bill, 'Venom', Hobgoblin, and of course, all the people trying to find his identity, really put things in perspective. It made me think of how I have problems, not nearly as bad as Spider-Mans' though.
They can really build up and cause chaos and can make you so stressed out that you lose friends. I'm pretty sure everyone has to deal with personal problems and have to deal win them. This book is just a great example of how to deal with them and how everyone goes through them. I would recommend this book to any Web Slinger fan and anyone who has read the original comics.
It's a great over all book with a lot of action and it keeps you on the edge of you seat. My friend had gotten me this book for my birthday with Spider-Man: Wanted Dead or Alive by Craig Gardener, and I recommend both of them. Just sitting back and relaxing while reading these books, will make any day an awesome day. A book based on the Marvel characters. In this one, Hobgoblin has a plan to blackmail New York City. Also, there are random people being murdered and it looks like Venom is the one doing these murders.
I liked this novel. The author did an excellent job with the characters as she did portrayed the three main characters perfectly. She also captured the mood of the city which is a prominent factor in the Spider-Man universe. I liked how she portrays Peter's everyday struggles with normal life and still being a hero. She does this well with Mary Jane also. Emailchemy 11 Serial Macbook. I do have to say I am not the biggest comic book reader. So I was a little surprised to see Venom portrayed as an antihero instead of a villain and might be the reason why my rating isn't higher.
This captures the essence of this universe and would be enjoyed by all fans as the reader is immediately brought into this vast universe with its well known characters. I do think it is geared more towards the serious fan than the casual fan. The casual fan might not know some of the established facts but these facts do not detract from the story. I was surprised how well I liked this, even if it was written by Diane Duane. I picked it at the library because of that, and I'm glad I did. It shows Spider-man as a more mature character, and, more importantly, how heroic the wife of a super-hero has to be. To me, Mary Jane is the 'star' of this novel—I found myself wishing more time had been given to her.

It confirms what I suspected—that Marbles' (as in lost theirs) decision to 'erase' Peter and Mary-Jane's marriage may have been smart business, but was dumb for character growth.
