Meanwhile, on NBC, 'Chuck' was down half a million viewers and 'Grimm' continued its successful streak.CBS scored just a smidge over 6 million viewers with a 4.0 rating/7 share in households. Thanks to a boost from 'Grimm,' NBC followed (4.8 million, 3.1/5) with ABC not far behind (4.5 million, 3.0/5). FOX drew 3.1 million viewers (1.8/3) and The CW 1.2 million (0.8/1). ABC has decided to pull the plug on the Extreme Makeover spin-off Extreme Makeover: Home Edition with host Ty Pennington. The reality series first debuted back in 2003.
After finding a home on the Sunday night line-up, ABC switched the series to Fridays and unfortunately the move could be the reason ratings dropped heavily for the show. With the series in its ninth season, the network plans to finish out this year and isn’t looking to continue with a tenth season. They are however looking to air special episodes of Pennington’s show, but have yet to give an official date for fans. Bullying is a serious problem that can lead to all sorts of emotional and psychological issues for the victims, even later into their lives. For the Walker family, it cost them their son after he committed suicide at the tender age of 11. On 'Extreme Makeover: Home Edition' (Fri., 8PM ET on ABC), the family was giving a new home they could hopefully feel at peace in, as well as some help with their anti-bullying initiative. First, the Kardashian sisters surprised eldest daughter Dominic on a shopping trip, where Khloe talked about her own experiences with bullying.
She was often compared negatively to sisters Kourtney and Kim, and fans of the show know that she actually took a DNA test years later to see if she was truly related to them. Insecurities from bullying can linger for years. Fast National Ratings for Friday, Dec. 3, 2011As usual, CBS emerged victorious from Friday's ratings race. With new episodes of 'A Gifted Man,' 'CSI: NY' and 'Blue Bloods,' CBS handily beat the other networks. Interestingly, though, The CW got a major boost from its fall finale of 'Supernatural,' and the show actually beat NBC in the 9:00 hour. Unfortunately, 'Nikita' didn't fare as well, tying its all-time series low.
CBS averaged 9.6 million viewers and a 6.1 rating/10 share in households. ABC was second with 4.7 million, 3.1/5, followed closely by FOX with 4.3 million and a 2.8/5. NBC came in fourth overall with 2.8 million, 1.9/3, and The CW trailed with 1.8 million, 1.1/2. In the adults 18-49 demo, CBS again won with a 1.4, followed by FOX with 1. Fast National ratings for Friday, Nov. 18, 2011It's starting to feel like a broken record, but certainly one the folks as CBS are interested in hearing. The drama block of 'A Gifted Man,' 'CSI: NY' and 'Blue Bloods' propelled the network to another Friday night ratings victory.Perhaps the biggest news is NBC's 'Grimm' and its success despite a challenging time slot and a disappointing lead in from 'Chuck.'
The show of dark fairy tales delivered 5.4 million viewers and tied for the 18-49 demo time slot title at 1.6.CBS averaged 10.1 million viewers and a 6.4 rating/11 share, easily beating their rivals. 'Extreme Makeover: Home Edition' (Fri., 8PM ET on ABC) took a break from building houses for families in need to tackle another worthy cause. Taking advantage of their new Friday time slot, the show was perfectly poised to address Veterans Day, and they did so with a star-studded fundraising event co-hosted by Ty Pennington and Jewel.
